Though the roof tiles on this house were in good conditions the felt sarking beneath had failed allowing rainwater penetration in stormy weather. The solution was to carefully remove all the existing tiles and keep. Then strip the old timber battens and perished felt. The leadwork to the chimney was also replaced with new Code 4 quality lead.
New vapour permeable sarking membrane was installed together with new treated timber battens. Finally the existing roof tiles were re-fixed and the ridge tiles bedding into position and pointed in new mortar.
